The UCI Arboretum provides an exciting introduction to the unique flora of coastal California from Irvine south into Mexico, as well as other representative habitats within the California Floristic Province. There is also a strong emphasis at the UCI Arboretum on the plant communities that occur in the Irvine area. The other main emphasis of the UCI Arboretum are plants of southern Africa, particularly Aloes and South African bulb species.
